Youth Leadership Program

Access to Visions for a Better Future

Gerry Roxas Leadership Award (GRLA)

This Award consists of a gold medallion given to a graduating high-school student who has shown exemplary leadership and dynamic spirit in both academics and extra-curricular activities. Its purpose is to encourage the youth to continue to shape and live the visions they have for their communities. There are currently 1,699 public and private schools participating in this program, and the number continues to grow.

Each participating school has an Award Screening Committee which consists of school officials such as the High School Principal, Graduating Class Adviser, Guidance Counsellor, PTA Officer, and the adviser of any student organization. The Award Screening Committee selects the Leadership Awardees from their graduating class based on three major criteria:

a) the student must possess a well-rounded personality and good moral character;

b)
the student must have outstanding leadership in extra-curricular and/or community projects;

c)
the student must be among the top ten graduating students.

Each school is allowed a maximum of two Leadership Awardees per school year. Once a student is selected as the Gerry Roxas Leadership Awardee, he or she is eligible to apply for the GRF Scholarship Grant. Furthermore, the Leadership Awardee joins an illustrious roster of emerging leaders that have gone on to outstanding achievements in their chosen fields such as media, arts, academe, government institutions, military, etc.
